Why buy a seed packet favor? Our seed packets are Personalized and Custom designed according to your wishes as best as I can. People love getting a living gift that shows them that their hostess is happy that they came and shared the special event with them. In years past, favors were required and very appreciated at any special occasion including dinner parties, weddings, baby showers, christenings and more. Today, I make them for ANY occasion and most any business application as well.
Do the Plantable Papers Grow? I have two manufacturers and always on the hunt for more that I buy their paper and make favors from those papers. I have quizzed the owners extensively and they plant and test the paper before they sell the paper. I can only take the word and assurances of the manufacturers (and like I said, I spoke to both owners at length) and they both claim the papers do sprout when planted properly and kept moist and warm during the 2-4 week germination period. If you'd like, please advise me if you find a different seed paper manufacturer you like, we can use their paper perhaps and are always willing to meet your needs. If you are extrememly concerned about this issue and it is more important than the giving of a novelty of plantable paper or the favor theme or design itself and you want to be 100% sure it is going to grow then I suggest that a seed packet or pot or another product where the seeds pour out into your hand may be more to your liking. Even then, seeds have germination rates which are usually 85% - 95% germination rate. Remember favors are made up of image, theme, the "cute" factor, personalizations and the plantable part. While picking your product, think of what is most important to you. This is not to say that this paper does not grow as I can only speak to it as far as the manufacturer's assurances and guarantees, but if you want something unique and personalized that a person doesn't get every day, then our favors are for you.
What is a seed packet? A seed packet is a special envelope made to package seeds and is white paper that is slightly glossy to resist water. The packets are 3 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" tall and I print your design template on the front with your poem, names and graphics (pictures, clip-art) that you want. We often design the graphics to match your wedding colors, theme or special design. We use the poem you want as best we can along with any other text you want. If there is an overflow, the thank you part goes great on the back of the seed packet which also houses the planting instructions. We can put the packets in a cello sleeve for an additional cost if you wish. The seeds are inside a 2 x 2 inche ziploc bag unless they are big seed in which we just put them in the packet and seal. Favors are then ready for your table. Store in a cool dry place until your event.
Do you plant the whole packet? No, tear off the top of the seed packet and plant seeds according to the planting instructions on the back.
What is printed on the back of our seed packet? You can choose Standard Instructions of your favorite seed. If you'd like what we call a Special Back, we minimize the planting instructions and type any additional text on the back that you didn't get on the front.
What about Proofs of my Seed Packet or Card? Can I see what is going to be printed before you produce my order? Yes, we require your approval before we produce your favor. Proofs are posted on the Customer Proof Page and the link is found in the left hand Navigation bar, scroll down and find it under Quick Links.
What is a Diaper? A diaper is a real fabric flannel "hand Pinned, hand-made" diaper that our seed packet favor and our 2 inch terra cotta pots sit into. They fit right into them and are a fun addition to your favor and people love them. We are the originators of this diaper and have copyright.
WHAT IS A PLANTABLE BIODEGRADABLE SHAPE? These are wonderful and are hand-made paper that is embedded with flower or herb or even tree seeds, depends on the shape. They are usually 3 to 3 1/2 in diameter and some are thick. Please read the features to each product to know what you are ordering. Basically, soak for 15 min and plant in the garden or pot and paper biodegrades into the soil and helps retain moisture for your plant.
WHAT ABOUT RUSH ORDERS?
Yes, we do Rush orders and do them happily and as quickly as we can. You may have to pay for overnight shipping, 2 day or something appropriate. I may have to have an option to charge you for overnight if we can't get them done the same day you order them. Sometimes 2 other rushes are ahead of you or something unforseen might happen.
Rules regarding RUSH ORDERS: But if you have your order being delivered on Friday and your event is Saturday and you refuse an overnight so that it would get there on Thursday, I am not going to do your order under those conditions. We've had too many times where the Friday delivery did not happen due to weather or other circumstances beyond MY control and your event is ruined. You will have to pay appropriate shipping so that your order arrives on Thurs (2 days before the event) so we have an extra day to deal with any annomolies or hiccups.
QUESTION: Do you mind if I call to order or ask questions? No, I love to meet and talk with my customers especially when you are ordering pots or something that takes a bit to do.
Question: What is Pacific Time Zone? We are 3 hours behind the east coast time wise, so please don't call me if you are in NY at 8:00 am, I won't be here.
Question: Are there still Indians in the west? And yes, there are still Indians! (smile) but no Pony Express, just cows and skunks on the road! (Smile)
